Was a staff member as the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Legislative Aide as well as Senator John Gallus’ assistant. Hired before school internship ended due to excellent work ethic, strong performance and dependability. Entrusted with recording and transcribing public hearings for the Senate Commerce, Labor and Consumer Protection Committee before current assignment. Responsibilities also included organizing and maintaining paperwork for all bills that pass through the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee as well as all bills sponsored and co-sponsored by Senator Gallus. Worked closely with the Committee chair to draft legislation based on hearings and meetings with stakeholders. Gained valuable experience in negotiating, communication, multi-tasking and organizational skills.

Organize and maintain paperwork for all bills that pass through the Senate Commerce, Labor, and Consumer Protection Committee. Worked closely with the committee chair and other staff members to ensure hearings and meetings are attended and properly posted. Gaining valuable experience in communication, multi-tasking and organizational skills.

Worked at the Chapel Arts Center as a work study for four years and had the ability to do every task involved in putting up and taking down an exhibit. In addition, gained vital leadership and multi-tasking skills across diverse exhibits. Helped train new members of the gallery how to do vital tasks including lighting, hanging, painting, opening, closing and running exhibits. Worked while managing a busy school schedule to save for college expenses.

Applied and was selected to participate in the New Hampshire Senate Intern Program. Worked closely with State Senate staff and Senators assisting with daily tasks. Responsible for searching the internet and newspapers on a weekly basis to create a jobs list for constituents who were unemployed resulting in the procurement of employment of some constituents. Assisted constituents with issues by contacting the necessary departments and finding a solution. Testified on behalf of a Senator during a public hearing. In managing these tasks, gained a better understanding of governmental processes and the professional and personal expectations that accompany working in the public sector.

Worked closely with the daybreak production and news teams. Learned quickly in a field with little prior experience. Learned how to operate cameras, tapes, audio, prompter and promos with the news director on the editing board. Responsible for quick and decisive decisions during live shows. Succeeded in balancing the demanding early morning schedule with both classes and work to develop greater time management skills. The changing working environment allowed for the development of problem-solving skills and flexibility.
