Visit my personal webpage at www.richmullettanimations.com to view my animation reel and CVSince first toying with stop motion animation as a child utilizing my parents wind up 8mm film camera and my Star Wars action figures, I have had a passion for animation and storytelling. After completing my B.S. in Film and Television production from San Diego State University, I moved to Los Angeles. My interests in animation continued here were I learned to use Flash to animate for film and the web. With a love for CG animation I went back to school at Santa Monica College to learn Maya and Houdini. Since February of 2007, I have used both skills in Flash and Maya as an animator and graphics specialist for a company specializing in interactive presentation used in high-end litigation support. I used Actionscript to create dynamic data driven presentations.I carried this knowledge with me to my first Unity job where I learned C# to complete a Unity app for a client and then used my 3D rigging, animation, texturing skills to create Unity prototype apps for games that would educate users on subjects related to the mother app. Here I built my first open world first person prototype for workers learning skills in the utilities industry along with a little prototype app for children to learn about conservation of energy.This multi-discipline knowledge then lead me to Age of Learning, where I applied the various skills and my people skills to become a Unity technical artist. I helped convert our Mastery app from a Flash based web app to a 2.5D Unity app distributed across desktop, iOS, Android, and web. I developed our Maya/Unity pipeline and prototyped several features, troubleshooting issues from animation, shaders, dynamic data and Unity Tooling. My knowledge of Maya aided in developing Python tools for our Maya pipeline, where I wrote exporters specific to our Shapey characters and contributed to Character pickers used to help speed the work of animators. I also managed multiple repositories and spearheaded multi-dicipline skill sharing and mentoring. This was a very rewarding experience, where I made many friends working across disciplines in an agile environment. My goals are to continue to pursue my love for animation by becoming a valuable member of CG animations and effects team.
