I spent six months working for the LSB on a contract basis. I assisted with research project that explored the unregulated legal services sector in England and Wales.

During my time at the Saïd Business School, I worked on three research projects, all of which examined the use of LegalTech. The first project explored the impact of AI-assisted LawTech on legal practice business models. The second projects explored the LawTech ecosystem more widely, through the prism of legal innovation leaders, LawTech owners and funders. Finally, the third project aimed to help the SRA understand the current use of technology and innovation among legal services providers. The first two projects were funded by the British Government, via UK Research and Innovation. The third project was funded by the SRA.

For more than a decade, I provided research writing, editing and blogging services for a range of clients, including Jomati, a legal practice consultancy, The Association of Costs Lawyers, the Professional Services Marketing Group, NetLaw Media, the International Bar Association and LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell. My journalistic articles appeared in legal trade magazines around the world, including Asian Legal Business, The Lawyers Weekly (Canada), Top Legal International (Italy), Briefing and LPM (UK).On several occasions, I provided freelance support for contract publishers and PR companies who required specialist copywriting expertise. Between 2008 and 2012, I wrote for the CMS group of law firms, working in association with Wardour, a London-based communications agency. More recently, I wrote content for the LawNet legal network, working alongside Prima PR & Marketing. Other communications clients have included Rostrum, WordWorks and Coast Communications / the PSMG.Finally, I also worked on projects with a strong academic flavour. I carried out research for the UK’s Legal Services Board, a consortium of universities and the Office of Fair Trading.

I initially wrote features for The European Lawyer magazine, covering developments in the European legal market. Later, I was managing editor of The Handbook of Independent Law Firms, a directory of leading European law practices.

I worked on the launch of hemscottlegal.com, an innovative direct recruitment website for junior lawyers.

I worked in Nabarro's marketing office on a short-term assignment to boost the firm's media profile. My main role was to produce news release for the non-legal trade press.

I wrote legal and law firm management article for The Commercial Lawyer, and carried out research for the Chambers & Partners Guide to the Legal Profession.
