Provision of CM consultancy services for establishing a BMC Remedy CMDB for MOD Defence Systems and Networks.Working with Service Management team, I analysed CM system and processes and proposed enhancements that were later implemented in order to aid Service and Change Management and meet the requirements of MOD environment. I also produced CM process documentation based on Remedy CMDB and as CM SME provided CM support to the MOD Configuration Manager and other departments.

Using Serena Dimensions v10.1.2 - hands on role working on Government project enhancing the CM system and processes via automation and use of Perl scripting. Improved CM Service response times and introduced deployment of Baselines to dedicated Release server on Baseline status change. Trained users etc.

Responsible for ensuring Service and Hardware Configuration Items (CI) data and relationships were correctly recorded in the HP OpenView Configuration Management Database (CMDB). Working closely with the various project teams I ensured they used the CM System to implement system changes. I produced training material and defined and implemented processes for identifying changes to CMDB data using Perl scripting. Regular Management reports were produced and process improvements implemented for easier visibility of Project CI's.

Reviewed and implemented the Configuration Management (CM) solution for major UNiSYS application development projects where previous CM processes were manually extensive and subject to errors. This major achievement was the first integrated LINC CM solution using an industrial strength CM tool - Serena Dimensions and was later converted for company adopted tools namely IBM Rational Unified Change Management (UCM) ClearCase MultiSite and ClearQuest MultiSite. I was also a major contributor to the attainment of CMMI Level 2 standard within 6 months. My efforts were recognised through 4 company Silver Recognition awards.

Member of UK Management Team working for UK & US Development Directors. Responsible for Configuration and Release Management of CSG products using Serena Dimensions. Introduced parallel development processes. Member of Merant (Serena) UK user Group Committee.

Working for the Corporate Headquarters Operational Technology System (CHOtS) National Support Centre. Established CM Unit with staff of 20 to meet requirements of £350m contract for service provision to 25-30 sites/15,000 users throughout UK and overseas. Defined processes for Software Control and Distribution, Asset Management, X.500 Directory & NT Exchange Management, Change Control, Security and Site Auditing.
