CurrentI am responsible for the upkeep of the schools Admin and Curriculum networks helping to ensure daily targets are met and that students are provided with a rich selection of IT resources.- Troubleshooting and rectifying hardware/software faults (e.g. Loss of Smartboard connection, user unable to log on).- Installing new hardware/software (e.g. joining workstations to the domain, installing new pieces of software onto workstations, installing classroom AV).- Arranging hardware repairs and making warranty claims where possible.- Administration of user accounts for school IT services and Active Directory (Adding new students and staff, removing leavers from the system).- Ordering supplies to maintain Laser Printers, Projectors, Smartboards and Laptops (e.g. Toners, Projector Bulbs and Compressed Air for cleaning sensitive equipment).- Procurement of new hardware and software beneficial to the school. Obtaining quotes for comparison and liaising with suppliers.- Assisting the bursar in preparing IT budgets for each academic year. - Working with external IT support providers, third party and local authority to resolve problems and seek advice on improvements to IT in the school.- Maintenance of school website to ensure that the latest documents are uploaded for parents to view (i.e. newsletters, request forms, policies) and to ensure website design moves with the times.- Administration of the schools Virtual Learning Environment to ensure all documents, courses and user details are kept up to date. - Safe disposal of e-waste generated by the school via WEEE recycling schemes and decommission of old equipment for disposal.- Maintenance and creation of user guides to instruct staff and students on the correct use of hardware and software.- Weekly liaison with IT Coordinator to discuss computing in school.- Reguar training with staff and students to review the dangers of the internet and how IT resources are used to aid learning.- CPD Training
