At a young age my Dad came home from work with several boxes of old Popular Mechanics magazines. I'm talking from the late 40's into the 50's old magazines. I would sit and read through them cover to cover. I would study the plans and dream of when i could build my own camper, mini submarine, boat or airplane. Back in the day the magazines were written you couldn't just go out and buy these things. I spent hours daydreaming and absorbing information. It had a big influence on my interests and career path. I still have many of those magazines. Strong problem solving professional with a degree focused in Mechanical Engineering and practical experience in manufacturing and quality control. I was more interested in the construction of a Rubix Cube then actually solving the colors. How was it made, how was it put together, how do the pieces move?
