Created Amey IT Services to provide IT Outsourcing, Project Management and Technical Infrastructure Services to a range of government and commercial clients. Experience gained included:-* Winning and delivering £35million 10 year PFI Electronic Libraries for Northern Ireland project to install a new Wide Area Network into every library and replacing five separate library systems with a single, Northern Ireland-wide solution.* Provision of a £5m ICT Managed Service for the Highways Agency, covering all desktop machines across 10 offices countrywide.* P&L Management, taking an inherited annualised £1m loss to profit, increasing the turnover to £10.5m and the forward order book to £40m from a zero base.* Grew and managed the team from 30 to 100.

Co-owner of IT Counsel from early start up to acquisition by Amey. The company grew from a nil base to annual revenues of £2million delivered by 50 fee earners focussing on its core offering of consultancy and project services in data and voice networking. Involved in all aspects of running the business including; client acquisition and retention; project delivery and financial control. Worked with blue-chip clients such as Channel 4; HM Treasury, BNFL Thomas Cook. Projects included the £0.6m implementation of Time Recording Services for the Highways Agency and a £0.7m project providing network consultancy for the Bluewater shopping centre.
