Having trained originally as a design engineer I have worked in the field of high-end sealing technology for the past 38 years.API 682 task force member (since Jan 2007) developing the API standard For Mechanical Sealing Systems for Rotary Pumps I have extensive knowledge of field applications in many industry sectors, including: oil, gas and petrochemicals; power generation; pulp and paper; chemical processing; mining; food. I have had a number of papers published by the I Mech E, Texas A&M Pump Symposium and The British Hydraulic Research Group. I have also had articles published in international journals including, for example, Hydrocarbon Processing and The Pump Zone. These papers and articles have addressed, in the main, the practical application of mechanical seal technology within the process industry, I have also written on the seal industry’s contribution to energy conservation and pump reliability.AESSEALI joined the company in 1990 and became a director in 1998. For the past seven years I have been at the forefront of our growth in the oil, gas and petrochemical sectors, and am closely involved with the development of products for both upstream and downstream applications.
