As part of the En Route executive leadership team, I am responsible for global marketing, strategy, product design and packaging development. This role includes the development and management of the innovation pipeline for the business. I also lead En Route's sustainability strategy.

In 2008 I was asked to create a new design agency in Singapore based on the Gategroups already successful POTM Studios brand. The studio’s primary function was to support the other ten group brands in the region delivering the creative input required to help them sustain or win new business. The creative and managerial responsibilities required for this role were very similar to my previous positions at Harmony and Watermark. My role has become more commercially driven in the last two years. I have had to give particular attention to cost due to the global economy severely affecting the airline industry, which makes up a large part of the Gategroups business. My largest creative challenge was to manage the creative workload for the group's comfort products division Harmony. This has been a very hands on role which has included undertaking most of the design work, trend research and product development myself. Often a very brand led product area creating products such as First and Business class amenity kits for most of the world’s largest and most prestigious airlines. I have had to work with high level brands such as Bvlgari, Salvatore Ferragamo and Aigner to name just a few. In any given briefing I would need to please both the client and the brand while staying on budget and on trend. My secondary challenge was to help create a profit making revenue stream of outside group contracts for the new studio and establish Potmstudios as a profit centre within the group. Prior to this I had to help design and manage the building of a new studio and group offices, hire new local staff for the design team in Singapore, the product development team in Hong Kong and develop a new network of potential clients. We have since worked for various industries including. Consumer Electronics, Bio mechanical, Medical, Food and beverage, Textiles, Gemology, Design consultation, Interior design, Hotel industry

I was asked to join the Gategroup initially for my experience in soft product design, textiles, and product development. A similar role level to that of Senior Designer, with a stronger emphasis on trend research and range development, directly influenced by key marketing information and relevant trend research. Responsibilities included managing the full process from research through to range creation; designing or briefing other designers in my team where necessary; trend research; market research; working with both the product management department and overseas suppliers to aid speed to market and reduce cost to market.

I was responsible for creating and project managing all textile design and creative based work for the Saab and Volvo accounts while assisting the companies largest account which was The Ford Group. This involved textile design, graphic design, managing projects, product sampling and colour matching, regular business trips to Europe, presentations to foreign clients, working to strict deadlines and having the ability to work as a team member.
