I consult on teacher development and media communication strategies.

High/Scope Foundation is a national leader in research, assessment, teacher training, and curricula development for early childhood education. Its research into the long-term effects of early childhood education has been instrumental in demonstrating the social and economic benefits of preschool education. My responsibilities included developing a new preschool mathematics curriculum, designing and conducting teacher professional-development workshops, training other trainers to lead math workshops for teachers, developing online components to support teacher professional development; and coordinating the implementation of program evaluation components.

Dovetree Productions provides research and media development for Piano Adventures®, Nancy and Randall Faber’s best-selling, piano-education method—over 200 books in print, annual book sales in excess of one million. My responsibility was to develop the online delivery of both piano-teacher education and student piano lessons.

I facilitated the formation of a new North American Studies Center, including: guiding the co-directors in formulation of a mission statement, annual goals, and a strategic plan; initiating partnerships with an American public policy institute and the Lodz city council; developing funding proposals; designing a preliminary curriculum and marketing plan for a Master of Public Administration degree program; and writing a bibliography for the study of the United States.

Film in the Cities (FITC) was a nonprofit media arts and education center with a broad range of education, exhibition, and artist-service programs. I was responsible to the board of directors for overall direction, development, and management of the organization, including leadership of the organization and within the media arts and education fields; strategic and long-range planning; financial development and management of an annual operating budget of $2.5 million (2008$); management of a staff of 24 full-time employees, 50+ adjunct instructors, and 200+ volunteers; support to the board of directors; and development of programs and partnerships in media education, media exhibition, and the support of independent media production.
