• Responsible for strategic raw materials sourcing of Asphalt and several other materials representing upwards of $500MM+ on an annual basis.
• Establish clear and formal short & long term strategies for the sourcing of raw materials in line with Business Units goals and objectives.
• Implement risk mitigation strategies by working with R&D & Operations to qualify alternate suppliers.
• Maintain deep understanding of markets for categories managed, including key players, appropriate indices, trends, etc., in order to communicate on the activities monthly.
• Lead RFP’s and supplier negotiations. Continuously challenge suppliers and obtain competitive prices on all raw materials.
• Work across functions (R&D, Supply Chain, Operations, etc.) in order to implement the projects in the best interest of the company.

• Analyze and execute gas supply deals, contracts, tariffs, accounting transactions, billing, and accounts receivable.
• Generate revenue opportunities by pursuing off-system sales, asset management, and capacity release deals in support of the Top Line Growth initiative.
• Track all gas supply and transportation activities in gas management systems.
• Coordinate and plan for short and long term supply acquisition and transportation activities.
• Review, analyze, and create performance metrics related to gas supply and transportation.
• Support the filing of the 1307(f) Purchased Gas Cost Proceeding and other regulatory filings.

• Primary trading responsibility for entire gasoline position in the Northeastern US.
• Maximize the profit from spot trading of refined products.
• Direct refinery planners and supply personnel to ensure optimum production and distribution of refined products to terminals, exchange partners and spot markets.
• Analyze, identify and capture arbitrage opportunities from the Gulf Coast into the Northeast.
• Leverage refinery footprint, system tankage, and earned pipeline space to support a physical trading book.
• Research and collaborate with analysts to produce reports on market conditions including supply/demand balances, refinery turnarounds, vessel tracking for import/exports and more.

• Paramount duty to perform central execution of all derivative activity on 8+ person trading desk ensuring enforcement of all internal and external limits.
• Perform technical analysis to identify technical indicators to support our fundamental market views and pursue short term speculative trading opportunities.

• Report on VAR, liquidity, internal and external limits, and compliance regulations.
• Manage, produce, and analyze MTM/P&L statements for the following books; derivatives, crude, gasoline, distillate, and Wholesale.
• Act as liaison between commercial, finance, and legal departments.

• Develop knowledge and understanding of the oil marketplace.
• Conduct market research and analysis for traders including vessel tracking, EIA graphs, analysis of hedging effectiveness, as well as research from the many other resources available.
