During this time I had many roles, including ISR Support Coordinator, Field Engineer, System Engineer, Business Analyst, Production Manager, Program Manager, ILS Manager and Business Development Manager.My sales portfolio included shipboard navigation systems, ring laser gyros, integrated bridge systems, navigational radars, distributed navigation systems, associated hardware and software and shipboard electronics and networking systems. Before that I was a Production Manager on tactical data link programs and enjoyed remarkable successes - multi-million dollar programs all came in under budget and on time. I also worked as the lead Field Engineer on many Navy operational Intelligence sites, directing teams in system integration, program fielding and system repairs. In this and my other roles I serviced a national and international customer base and provided analyses and engineering services worldwide on complex Department of Defense and commercial systems.I also helped develop Fleet Concept of Operations (CONOPS) for the numbered Fleet Commander (C3F) which helped evaluate new and existing Fleet capabilities, address issues and inform joint and naval planners on how to best employ capabilities in the Fleet today and those that will be delivered to the Fleet within the next 5 years.The many customers I worked with included PEO-C4I, SSC-PAC, SSC-LANT, SPAWAR, Fleet staffs, Military Sea Lift Command, commercial ship yards in the Western US, and PEO-IWS (ACAT I-IV and Non-ACAT programs). I was the Supervisor for a team of exceptionally brilliant computer programmers supporting the administrative functions of Southwestern College, one of 112 California public community colleges and the only institute of higher education located in the southern portion of San Diego County. I was also an adjunct professor teaching advanced level computer technology classes. After the terrible tragedy of 9/11 I decided that I would join the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT). I was offered a position in the DoD industry supporting Defense Intelligence systems.

My first assignment at CNAP was the West Coast helicopter class desk. I represented the helo community to the 3-Star Admiral. I was only in this position a very short time when I was placed in charge of C4ISR (N-6). My team (77 civilians/military) coordinated the installs and upgrades to the Communications infrastructure on the 6 West Coast carriers. Each carrier had an average of 89 complex C4ISR type systems and our responsibilities were to ensure that all systems were complete and up-to-date prior to each deployment. I retired from the Navy with over 4,600 accident free hours.
