I'm proud to say this year marks my 26th in business.Based on Rough & Ready Island, Stockton, CA, about 80 miles east of San Francisco, I am in a good position to cover the central California Valley and the inland estuary known as the Sacramento San Joaquin Delta and the greater Bay Area. In addition to selling my fine art photographs to discerning individual collectors I also do corporate decor. In addition to selling my fine art photographs to discerning individual collectors I also do corporate decor. I have art in 180 guestrooms in the University Plaza Waterfront Hotel in Stockton, CA (formerly the Sheraton), Rabo Agri Finance, the new AG Spanos Building, Trinity Plaza Medical Facility, Delta Health Plan, and others. I maintain a large stock photography file for advertising and editorial clients, as well. The Navy taught me aerial photography and that led me to Antarctica. Talk about one of the last frontiers on Earth! I continue to do a significant amount of aerial work for developers and builders, agricultural interests, and irrigation districts. What an exciting job! It was like having a front row seat on life. There was good news and bad news almost every day along with the ever present deadlines. I also got to cover lots of sports and visiting dignataries. I have spent time in major league dugouts, on the sidelines of pro football games and countless local athletic events, not to mention the occasional visiting President, Candidate or movie star. Every day was a stimulating challenge. In addition to the daily assignments I was always on the lookout for artistic compositions. At first the editors weren't all that interested in stand-alone 'art' but once they tried it they found that readers truly enjoyed an occasional break from the news of the day. After 20 years in the news business my inner artist was needing more nourshment so I decided to open my own fine art and commercial studio. Show less

Right out of the Navy I landed a dream job at this small town daily newspaper. Long hours and low pay, but I learned so much and built a great portfolio of news photography enabling me to move on when the time was right.
