This database consists of tables used by 27 legal entities to enter their estimated current year tax liabilities to their respective input tables each quarter. When completed the tax accountant clicks on a macro and appends this data to a single table and then to a pivot table which captures all tax liability data by legal entity and by either industrial or capital business. This pivot table can be easily manipulated by the tax accountant to display the data utilized by the tax accounting group and by the cash flow reporting team. The old process required several days of data manipulation including vast blocks of time cutting and pasting the data but now takes less than 1 hour.·Another accomplishment was creating new spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel retrieving the trading cash flows by month/qtr/ytd for prior year/budget/forecasted activity. The old system required changing the points of view in Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) for every spreadsheet and relinking a second set of excel spreadsheets each month which was a cumbersome and time-consuming process with greater chance of human error.
