I am an Entrepreneur Ecosystem Builder, Local Government Public Policy Expert, Digital Equity Practitioner and Regulatory Due Diligence for Emerging Technologies Expert. As former Assistant City Manager for Entrepreneurship & Small Business, I worked with City Departments and our vibrant entrepreneur community partners to establish a business-friendly customer service culture in City Hall. Currently, engaged in regulatory due diligence for emerging technologies and disruptive business models seeking to monetize the sharing economy. As an Entrepreneur Ecosystem Builder, I am mapping and facilitating the growth of emerging innovation districts with a primary focus on equity and diversity for economic mobility.In 2009, I founded KCBizCare, the City's Business Customer Service Center, and the Business Advocates running this office have built the program into a nationally recognized best practice for local government.In March 2010, Mayor Pro Tem Cindy Circo, Assistant City Manager Kimiko Gilmore and I facilitated the public-private GoogleKC Coalition's response to Google's Fiber for Communities RFI. I assisted in the City's negotiations with Google and in May 2011, Kansas City, Missouri joined our sister city, Kansas City, Kansas, as the first Google Fiber Communities. I am now participating in collaborative community efforts to ensure the successful deployment, implementation and use of the network. The City's Emerging Technology initiatives are building as the next big thing from these efforts.I am a Steering Council Member on the Coalition for Digital Inclusion as we seek to define the path from digital inclusion to economic mobility and entrepreneurship. As a Fiber to the Home (FTTH) and SMB class service initiative, we are looking for significant expansion and success for Small-, Medium-sized Businesses, home-based businesses and work from home opportunities for our citizens.
