Specialties include marketing and sales strategy, organizational and operational design, team-building, effective compensation, financial management, and preparing owners for exits.In 1992, I founded Daycom Systems, a $26 million telecom VAR and Avaya-authorized dealer based in San Diego. We specialized in enterprise-class companies like Mutual of Omaha, Geico Insurance, Intel, Wal-Mart, AARP, and Coventry Healthcare. The company was the largest Avaya VAR on the West Coast, and the only to have both US and Mexican nationwide authorizations. I sold to Carousel Industries in early '09.During my career at Daycom Systems, I served the North-American Association of Telecommunications Dealers (NATD) from '98 – '05 in various capacities including President. I was also on the Vendor Liaison Committee for the American Colleges and University Telecommunications Association (ACUTA) for two years. And I am a past President of Avaya’s BusinessPartner Advisory Council. In 2009, I co-founded and served on the Board of South Coast Yachts, the Beneteau authorized boat dealer in San Diego: power and sailing yachts 30 - 60 feet. My business acumen, coupled with my business-partner's exceptional sales and marketing skills, built Beneteau's #1 dealer in North America for 2018, 2019, and 2020. In 2018, we acquired The Dinghy Doctor (small inflatable boats and outboards) which became a successful turn-around. During my time at SCY, I was a member of Beneteau's Dealer Discussion Group. I sold my stake in these companies in December, 2020, which was part of the foundational plan.July 2020 - I'm a partner in several Phenix Salon Suites franchises - a growing market and opportunity. I am a partner in a small Co Springs shopping center turnaround which has been redeveloped, repopulated, and sold. I am also an investor / LP in Moore Venture Partners, a local venture capital firm. I enjoy advising and consulting for a few select clients, and investing in real-estate projects.I've served as an adviser to UK Sailmakers, Innovative Capital, Bird Rock Systems, Plus Delta Partners, and Bente Hansen & Associates, a San Diego based executive search firm. I've been a volunteer coach at the Lavin Entrepreneurship Center at San Diego State University. I am a proud US Navy veteran and have a BS in Finance from SDSU.
