Kuwait

As the Operations Officer of an Armored Brigade Combat Team (3rd ABCT, 1st Armored Division), I was responsible for planning, resourcing, synchronizing, and executing a training and readiness strategy that ensured all of the over 4,100 Soldiers in the Brigade were prepared for action as the Theater Reserve while deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Spartan Shield. In addition to the Brigade's readiness, I held primary responsibility for the Brigade's participation in six multi-national training and live fire exercises with eight different Gulf Cooperation Council nations. Simultaneously, we planned and resourced training for the following fiscal year and executed the Brigade's successful re-deployment to Ft. Bliss, TX.

El Paso, Texas Area

As the Operations Officer of a Cavalry Squadron in an Armored Brigade Combat Team (2nd Squadron, 13th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd ABCT, 1st AD), I was responsible for planning, resourcing, synchronizing, and executing a gated training strategy that ensured all of the over 500 Troopers in the Squadron were prepared to deploy to the Middle East. This included all aspects of training and preparation to include the individual readiness of all members of the Squadron, large unit cross-functional collective training, and culminated in my fully trained Squadron's integration into the Brigade's mission-ready exercise at the National Training Center in preparation for a deployment.

Initially served as an Infantry Company Trainer with the responsibility of advising, coaching, mentoring, and preparing Company Commanders, their headquarters, and Companies-at-large for combat operations prior to their deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Later promoted to Company Live Fire Trainer with the responsibility of guiding the Company Commander through a Company Combined Arms Live Fire Exercise multiple times monthly.

Served as the Commander of the Brigade Headquarters Company for 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division. Personally responsible for the training, equipping, preparedness, and eventual deployment of over 200 Soldiers under my command from Fort Carson, CO to Kandahar Afghanistan.
