Responsible for developing and implementing standards, following industry best practices, for PTC’s global storage environment. The storage environment includes EMC and NetApp arrays as well as tier3 iSCSI/NAS devices, Cisco and Brocade switches, and a backup environment utilizing Veritas NetBackup, EMC Networker, and EMC DataDomain. My team of two provides storage services to PTC’s global server infrastructure, which includes significant ESXi deployments on HP blade chassis, and standalone HP/Dell/Sun servers.

As the the only Storage Administrator on staff, I am responsible for storage strategy, deployment, and support for Turbine’s Corporate and Production Datacenters. The storage environment includes such hardware products as EMC disk arrays(DMX-4, VNX, CX4-480) and appliances(Celerra, Rainfinity FMA, DataDomain), and Brocade switches and blade chassis switch modules.

As the primary Storage environment resource, I designed the storage infrastructure to support Brown’s Disaster Recovery project, which included EMC DMX-3 disk replication with SRDF over Cisco MDS switches with FCIP, and backup replication with DataDomain and Avamar appliances under EMC Networker. I also lent my experience to Brown staff in the technical planning, design, and execution of their overall DR efforts, as well as refining their IT Change Management process. I provided the technical support to enable IBM blade chassis to connect to the SAN. I also planned and implemented an upgrade of EMC ControlCenter from v6.0 to v6.1, storage tiering within Symmetrix Optimizer on an DMX-3 array, and the installation and configuration of two Clariion CX4 arrays.

Implemented and configured SAN technology from the ground up in two Staples data centers, including data and tape replication between the sites. Primary architect and owner of Staples storage infrastructure, responsible for configuring Unix, Linux, and Windows servers on the SAN, configuring and presenting storage targets, including EMC Symmetrix arrays, Clariion disk arrays, virtual and physical tape libraries on the SAN via McData and Cisco switches and managed by EMC ControlCenter. Designer of Staples Open Systems’ Disaster Recovery procedures. Implemented HP OmniBack backup software into the unix environment and grew it to include ~200 unix clients, including Oracle and Informix integrations.
