northstormont.ca is a municipal website designed to provide information about the municipality and council to both local residents as well as outside viewers.The site design has been created to provide quick access for low bandwidth users as the majority of it's demographics have little to no access to high speed internet at this time. Keeping in mind advancing technologies in the internet access market the site uses a Joomla! content management solution which allows the municipality to advance their website as access to its viewers increases in availability.

I have worked with Debbie Hollingworth the owner of You've Been Posted on her website youvebeenposted.com since 2007 and continue to do so.This website was first designed/developed by myself with assistance from Carolyn Baggoo owner of Barrier Free Web Design as an Oscommerce content management system where products could be purchased through the site online.In 2009 Debbie asked me to redesign the website as a Joomla! content management system in the form of an online brochure and demonstration site showcasing her creations for potential clients in the wedding and wine label industry.I currently maintain and update youvebeenposted.com and continue a great business relationship with Debbie Hollingworth. In 2009 I was hired to work as part of the Economic Development team in Alexandria, Ontario.As lead developer in the northglengarry.ca project my duty was to research and develop a content management solution for the municipality of North Glengarry. After choosing Joomla! as the CMS I then was tasked with researching and gathering the content and materials required to complete the project.The goal of the northglengarry.ca website is to provide viewers with a sense of the great historic value the North Glengarry municipality has to offer while at the same time providing up to date information about the municipality, it's council and municipal departments.The graphics for the northglengarry.ca website were created by myself up until February of 2010 using images donated to the municipality by it's local residents. Each image was created using local photographs of families and places that still reside in the community. Many thanks go out to those of you who assisted me with this fun and interesting task, I miss the interesting stories that came along with each of them.Later in 2010 I was rehired as a freelance developer to add a new section to the website called "Internet Services In North Glengarry" where the focus is to provide information about Internet devices, software and safety.

The first client I had after graduating from college as a computer programmer.Firstaidottawa.com was designed in 2008 using Oscommerce by Carolyn Baggoo of Barrier Free Web Design with my assistance as programmer. The site is still live and in use today.Although Oscommerce is designed primarily as a tool to sell products online, with some programming changes and database additions I managed to change it into a program that could accept student registrations and member administration based on course availability. New database tables and fields were required and a lot of custom programming went into making all this work on the client side while still maintaining all of the original Oscommerce functionality and features both in the front and back end.I'd like to thank Andrew Johnston owner of First Aid Ottawa Inc. again for taking the leap of faith and giving me the chance that got me started in my career as a developer.
