GXS, an SEC reporting company, originally was a spin-out from General Electric and was owned by private equity firms (Francisco Partners, Golden Gate Capital and Cerberus). Accomplishments included the acquisitions of Inovis, a large competitor, and InterChange (Brazil), Amitive and Rollstream, as well as $785M high yield public debt issue. Substantially upgraded and doubled the size of the global legal team (based in eight countries), positioned the company for a liquidity event and successfully managed legal and regulatory aspects of the company’s sale to Open Text (OTEX) for $1.2 billion (closed 2014).
