Provides workshops and professional development inclusive of but not limited to the following topics: diversity and inclusion, race and ethnicity, gender, LGBTQ+ issues, school climate, bias based bullying, LGBTQ+ history, and school legal responsibilitiesConsults media creators (books, music, video games, educational materials) on representation in their works by providing analysis, feedback, and suggestions for improvementLead organizer and advocate for LGBTQ+ inclusive History and Social Science Curriculum in California partnering with the California Department of Education and the Content, Literacy, Inquiry, and Citizenship (CLIC) Project to provide training and support for schools and school districtsPartners with school administration and educators to create strategies for improved social climate through policy, on campus practices, resources, and staff educationWorks collaboratively with statewide and national partners to address issues of policy concerning LGBTQ+ youth and families such as student policing, gender inclusive practices, diversity in representation, student privacy, and parental rightsManages and supports a team (5+) in the creation and curation of LGBTQ+ inclusive educational materials as well as special projects to improve school climateAdvised international partners (Japan, Ireland, Uganda, Sweden) on LGBTQ+ issues and implementation of inclusion strategies in education and general social settingsSets the direction, work, and scope of the Education Team from content focus, transformational change methodology, and internal and external collaborative strategies
