I work primarily on Pentaho software, a data integration and analytics platform. Java 11 compatibilityI upgraded all of Pentaho’s products to compile with Java 11, pass allexisting unit and integration tests, and run with Java 8 and Java 11.Upgrade InstallerI created the upgrade installer for major releases and improved the UX over the previoussolution. I devised and successfully implemented a configuration file management solution thatdetermines which configuration files the user has modified, which files were upgradedin the release, and which configuration files need to be manually merged. I presented allof this in a report that the user can use to greatly reduce Pentaho upgrade time andcomplexity.I successfully modified the upgrade installer to work for Pentaho service pack releasesgreatly reducing internal effort required to manage service packs releases and reducingcustomer time and effort to complete a service pack upgrade.Multi cluster configurationI created a front end wizard in Pentaho to greatly improve the usability and setup of multiple Hadoop clusters from different vendors.Pentaho Step DevelopmentI've created Pentaho transformation and job steps to integrate with the following: Streaming technologies: Kafka, Kinesis, Amqp, Mqtt, Jms, streaming backpressure management, etc Cloud databases: Snowflake and redshiftScrum masterI led my team through scrum ceremonies and coached them through scrum processes to maintain a stable velocity, estimate accurately, and commit to solid sprint plans. HackathonsI participated in 4 hackathons where I presented ideas to peers, assembled a team,created a working prototype, created a presentation and short video demonstration, andsuccessfully presented a live demonstration to the company in the final round.

I worked on multiple programs, projects, and software stacks at Lockheed Martin. I was a scrum master, technical lead, team lead, and mentor. I led my teams through the full software development life cycle from requirements solicitation through formal government testing. I created and improved multiple high quality and rigorously tested software solutions. I used algorithms and data structures to manage large volumes of data across distributed systems.

I maintained BYU-Idaho's custom internal web builder. Teachers and administrators used this software to provide content to students. I added new widgets including an expandable bulleted list and I made updates to page headers and footers and other dynamically loaded content.

I maintained USAA's life insurance software including adding algorithms to calculate future bank holiday dates (such as good Friday) and generating SQL queries to scan for fraudulent activity and patterns.
