Renal Acute - Brooklyn Park, Gambro Uf Solutions
● Used MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, and auto-code tools from MathWorks to refine, auto-code, and test medical device control algorithms that provide CRRT, TPE, and HP therapies.● Generated fault detection and fault recovery algorithms with focus on patient safety and operator ease of use.● Performed formal tests verifying that the system performance satisfied performance requirements.● Granted patents for work relating to disposable filter set pressure sensors, patient fluid balance, and proper operator filter set loading.
Renal Acute - Brooklyn Park, Gambro Uf Solutions
● Used MathWorks tools to develop and test medical device control algorithms that provide CRRT, TPE, and HP therapies.● Developed test procedures and used MathWorks real-time tools to perform informal testing.● Used MathWorks auto-code tools to automatically generate algorithm source code from Matlab models. The generated source code could then be compiled and linked directly into higher level system embedded code.
Minneapolis, Mn
● Used MathWorks tools to Develop fluid pump Control algorithms for medical devices that provide CRRT, TPE, and Hemoperfusion HP therapies.● Developed Kalman Filters that provide stable feedback to closed loop fluid pump controllers required to achieve very accurate control of patient fluid levels. In addition, the Kalman filter was capable of recognizing erroneous measurement data allowing treatment to continue normally for short periods until valid measurment data was obtained.
● Contractor at GDLS through Advanced Technology Innovation Corp, Walpole, MA.● Developed processes and integration/test environment associated with integrating military vehicle embedded controller software and vehicle subsystem electronics hardware.● Integrated Matlab/Simulink models into real-time emulator test environment to verify subsystem interfaces and behaviors.
● Responsible for design, analysis, and implementation of closed-loop control algorithms for inertially stabilized gun pointing applications, ammunition handling servo drives, fire control systems. Developed concepts, simulation/analysis techniques, and tested prototypes in labs and at test ranges. ● Built detailed MATLAB models of control algorithms, plant dynamics, and system disturbance inputs using Simulink, Stateflow, and C user code blocks. Resulted in two publications and several awards.● Developed derived requirements and cross-disciplinary flow down requirements for control related feedback sensors, mechanical, electrical, and software components.● Integrated and debugged control HW/SW on prototype systems using rapid prototyping real-time emulators and embedded controllers on target hardware. Resulted in 2009 BAE Chairman's Award.● Developed military vehicle Active Protection System (APS) Fire Control algorithms, and part of team that tested system against live threats at Redstone Arsenal test range. Achieved successful threat defeats and was appointed modeling and simulation section author for APS proposal.● Developed A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle MATRIXx models used to emulate subsystem behaviors and electrical interfaces facilitating subsystem HW/SW integration in Systems Integration Lab.● Verified prototype system motion control performance vs. dynamic performance requirements.● As Work Package Manager tracked control algorithm development cost, schedule, and variances in Earned Value Management System resulting in controller deliveries that were on time and within budget.● August 2009 - Position eliminated as a result of Future Combat System Manned Ground Vehicle contract Termination for Convenience by the U.S. Army.
● Led Control System design, development, and prototype testing for inertially stabilized radar and gun systems with servo control algorithms implemented via DSP embedded code as well as analog circuit boards. Developed detailed models of servo control sensors, actuators, and related electrical and mechanical hardware using EASY5 Dynamic Analysis Tools.
● Represented Draper Laboratory at NASA/Johnson Space Center(JSC) technical meetings and coordinated engineering efforts at Draper Lab in Cambridge, MA with NASA/JSC direction. Responsibilities included definition and evaluation of Space Shuttle Orbiter Digital Autopilot (DAP) and Shuttle Remote Manipulator System (RMS) design requirements, as well as supporting multiple man-in-the-loop hybrid simulation facilities.● Received Commendation letter from NASA/JSC Director.
● Worked on team responsible for design and evaluation of Reaction Control System (RCS) portion of Space Shuttle Orbiter Digital Autopilot (DAP) for orbital insertion, on-orbit, and de-orbit flight phases.● Designed multi-fault tolerant Boolean algebra RCS jet selection logic, evaluated and modified nonlinear phase plane control law and Orbiter state estimation algorithms, and supported flight planning with simulations to determine dynamic performance and RCS fuel consumption.● Received numerous Certificates of Recognition for support of Space Shuttle Orbital Flight Test Missions.
