Rick E. Van House II moved directly from Michigan State University into the advertising business. He spent those first several years demonstrating his drive and talent, quickly proving his skill for creating and executing successful campaigns in a variety of media. After gleaning all he could from various global agencies in and around Detroit, Van House took that knowledge, experience and expertise and put it to work for his own agency. His son, who was just 8 years old at the time, suggested the name of the agency, and in May of 2006, Know Advertising was born. GiveYoung.org was created to help educate the younger generation (25-45) about nonprofit opportunities through an online matching technology called Cause Finder. Thus far, the foundation has successfully implemented educational initiatives, events, and interactions that are unparalleled within this age group. The future holds great things for GiveYoung.org as it continues its goal of teaching the next generation about a wide variety of nonprofit opportunities and how to donate their time, talent, and dollars to them.
