I met Kathryn Koning at a tradeshow in 2019, and she had both a vision and software product under development that's design is to discretely communicate instances of human trafficking to rapid response authorities, and she was looking to build a team. I immediately agreed to help out in any way possible, and in early 2020 we decided to convert Darkness2Hope into a not for profit, organize a board, and enter into discussions with the Department of Homeland Security, State Task Force organizations, Rotary International, multiple hospitality organizations, the Department of Labor, and large corporations with initiatives focused around combating human trafficking and assisting survivors with recovery. We are focused on providing tools to bridge gaps between existing NGO's and federal, state, and local resources to enable the development of a national rapid response system tied to every current national recovery assistance network. Our goals are to decrease and discourage future instances of human trafficking and assist survivors of human trafficking to access local resources to help with their rehabilitation and recovery.

My current duties include the management of a number of federal contracts and BPA's including SEWP and GSA. Along with the immense amount of excel based analysis and content creation required to managing these contracts, I manage our federal marketing activities, and part of a sales team of 20 people selling into the federal space. I also assist our administrative staff with vendor/manufacturer relationship development and internal process improvements and automation, and our sales staff as the resident CTC HP Champion and general business technology SME.

Prepaid Legal Services, now Legal Shield, is a multi-level marketing organization that just happens to offer an amazing product. Just selling legal insurance isn't going to get you to the Bahamas in most cases, and the real money is in recruiting new sales associates. I really just got in early, and haven't focused much on recruiting. Though, I do use my membership all the time now that I understand the benefits, and I recommend some form of prepaid legal coverage for every family in America.

Unfortunately, StopFSSI.org closed it's doors in October of 2014, when it was discovered that the Government Accountability Office would not intervene with the implementation of the Federal Strategic Sourcing Initiatives regardless of significant support to do so by industry and the SBA. By July of 2014 we had confirmed that the SBA believes the current method of implementation for strategic sourcing vehicles, being managed by the General Services Administration, does not meet the intent and requirements set forth in the limitations on the consolidation of contract vehicles established in the Small Business Jobs Act of 2010. It took until 2013 for these changes to be codified into legislation. If Congress were to extrapolate the intent of these limitations into specific legislation which would be enforced by the GAO, it would take more time and capital than we had available to effect any meaningful change. Catastrophic and irreparable damage to small and large businesses alike will already have been done. My position at StopFSSI.org was to interact daily with the executive management team, to ensure we adhered to the direction of the organization as established in the team charter and articles of incorporation, and to work closely with other board members to ensure to operational efficiency and fiscal solvency. As things slowly wound down, I took the position of COO as well, and assisted with final closure of the business.

AllToner is a woman owned business in Southern California with a lot to bring to the table. My primary duty is to negotiate equipment, supply, and service contracts with large datacenter end users who continually require greener and more cost effective operations processes that maintain high levels of corporate consciousness. My focus is data management and migrations to disk with achievable return on investment time frames, and this brings me into regular contact with some of the most interesting and innovative technology developers in the industry. This position is fun, and certainly keeps me on my toes.

They give you leads and materials, you make magic happen. Same as any face to face sale really: call a lead, make an appointment, be on time, do your presentation, get the contract signed, schmooze, get out. In all honesty I think face to face sales is a bit easier than phone sales, once you've got the appointment you've got the sale in insurance. I didin't like the underwriting policies, and I try to stay away from 1099 unless the deal's heavily weighted in my favor nowadays.
