I am responsible for the overall day-to-day management of the Facilities Department at The Juilliard School. I support various Facilities areas including procurement of supplies and equipment, work flow management, capital projects, building furnishings, and activities of the union staff to help maintain an efficient and safe operation.Responsibilities:· In conjunction with the Vice President of Facilities Management and the Director of Facilities Operations, or in the absence of both, monitor the activities of the union staff in HVAC, cleaning, maintenance, and security. If deficiencies are found, work with the staff directly to correct the issues.· Evaluate and resolve problems/complaints of the building occupants, escalating to facilities senior leadership, as needed. This includes, but is not limited to, building cleanliness, maintenance issues, climate control, etc. · Coordinate and supervise all event setup requests throughout the building from high profile events like galas, donor functions, Board meetings/retreats, visits from public officials to less formal events like classes, rehearsals and student parties. · Oversee the building furnishings process including managing inventory, working with designers on layout plans, procurement of furniture items, monitoring the budget, and recommending invoices for approval.· Dispatch work orders as they are received, process work order reports, and complete other tasks in the work management system.· Work closely with the Director of Facilities Operations to monitor and manage service contracts. Connect with outside service contractors as needed to resolve issues that cannot be addressed by in-house union staff. · Provide support to the Director of Capital Projects and Assistant Project Manager by managing small projects and procuring items as needed.· Assist in the day to day operations of the Facilities Office, including the access control system and key requests.
