This program conducts research that develops scalable maintenance processes and technologies that aid in managing costs, reliability, risks and improve organizational efficiencies. The research work has proven to be very important in times of changing duty cycles and constrained resources. Program research enables power generation plant owners and operators to address common industry challenges related to maintenance program effectiveness and functionality, data and information for improved decision-making, and more efficient processes for improved organizational efficiency and results.Projects include the early detection and diagnosis of equipment degradation that maximizes maintenance organizational effectiveness. A significant part of these research efforts involves the management and communication of data and information necessary for monitoring and maintaining power plant assets.
