Offerings included traditional IT infrastructure consulting, support, integration, and custom software development. Over the next five years he grew the company to $1.7M and 15 employees and subcontractors. In 2005, he divested the software development practice to focus on IT infrastructure-related service offerings. At the beginning of 2006 annual revenue from these services was under $300,000. Rick and 5 employees grew service revenue to $1M by the end of 2009. The company narrowed offerings and its active customer base to the Managed Services model during that time.Rick and his team had created a service delivery model that was the envy of other IT services providers, many of whom visited Chicago to learn about INTRUST GROUP operations. With customer satisfaction levels holding steady well above goal and day-to-day operations running smoothly smooth without Rick’s direct effort, he set out to take advantage of the scalable organization he had built.He approached LAN Solutions of Cincinnati, OH in 2009 and successfully negotiated a merger with the firm, three times the size of INTRUST GROUP—the name was kept for use by the newly merged organization. Rick was made responsible for all service operations with the goal of replicating the model developed in Chicago. The new service delivery organization had approximately 35 technical staff, 120 customers, 3500 managed endpoints, and generated $5M in revenue. Rick created a strong, cross-location departmental structure and management team, and together they successfully integrated the pre-merger companies’ internal business operations and systems and service delivery.
