I am Ridwan Lawal, a passionate Fisheries Biologist with a strong academic background and hands-on research experience in marine ecology, bio-conservation, and fisheries management. I hold a BSc in Fisheries from Lagos State University, graduating with a Second Class Upper (3.93/5.00). My thesis, which focused on the growth of Clarias garipinus on sargassum-based fish feed, was conducted under the guidance of Professor Martins Anatekhai, reflecting my deep interest in sustainable aquaculture practices.Over the past few years, I have actively engaged in several research projects, where I honed my skills in data analysis, environmental assessment, and ecotoxicity. Notably, at the Center for Sargassum Research, I conducted extensive data collation, proximate analysis, and water parameter evaluation. Additionally, I contributed to significant studies on heavy metal contamination and comparative water quality assessments, utilizing advanced tools like SPSS and Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) for precise analysis.My professional journey extends beyond research, as I’ve also served as an Academic Tutor at Lagos State University, where I mentored and taught students in practical courses. My leadership roles, including President of SERVICOM CDS Group during my NYSC service year, demonstrate my commitment to community service and development, further showcasing my ability to lead and inspire teams.Looking ahead, I am driven to contribute to sustainable aquaculture and marine conservation initiatives that make a tangible impact. My goal is to leverage my expertise to address environmental challenges and promote sustainable practices in the fisheries industry.
