Explored methods for preparing and purifying several ligand-phosphine complexes. Resulting complexes were to be investigated as lanthanide complexing agents for application in nuclear waste remediation.

Developed preparation and workup/crystallization procedures for 6 diarylsulfonates. Investigated structure/ purity via 1HNMR, 13CNMR, IR, melting point and GCMS. Currently exploring the use of products as alternative substrates in Sonogashira Cross-coupling reactions. Screening reaction conditions (ratios, temp, time, microwave, ligands). Analyzing.

Prepared standards, solvents, solutions, reagents, and glassware for organic chemistry lab and other labs as needed. Manage/stock/clean inventory, correspond with supervisor and other stockroom workers on lab preps and general duties, answering phones. Maintain stockroom, student labs, and work to ensure smooth operation of labs and other facilities each.
