My journey as the owner of "Herb to Heart" has been a labor of love to bring high quality genuine spices to kitchens everywhere. I started everything from scratch with a goal to improve cooking experiences focusing on finding the freshest and most fragrant spices. I faced obstacles and learned the ins and outs of the spice business creating a brand that prizes quality, sustainability, and happy customers. "Herb to Heart" evolved from a tiny startup to a name people trust making countless meals better and motivating home cooks and professional chefs to discover the lively world of spices. I gained hands on experience in identifying, sourcing, storing, manufacturing, distribution, keeping sufficient inventories of high quality unadulterated spices.

Working as a second officer, I worked as a key member of the ship's deck officers team, primarily responsible for navigation and voyage planning. My duties included maintaining the ship's charts and navigational equipment, overseeing the bridge during watch, preparing various reports and ensuring the vessel follows the planned route safely. I also assisted with cargo operations, safety drills, maintaining inventories of spares for various equipment as required, ordering supplies as and when required for the systems that came under my domain. I reported directly to the chief officer and master and contributed to safe and efficient operation of the ship.

Working as a Third officer, I was primarily responsible for the ship's safety and navigation. My duties included maintaining navigational watches, ensuring the proper functioning of life-saving and fire-fighting equipment, and assisting in the safe loading, stowing, and unloading of cargo, handling emergency drills and other safety-related tasks. My role also included carrying out port documentation, ordering stores and supplies, maintaining inventories, prompt updating of PMS for the equipment that came under my domain as a third officer. I worked under the supervision of the other senior officers and contributed to the overall operational efficiency of the vessel.

Got selected by NYK ship management from the college itself, my role primarily involved hands-on training and learning about ship operations, navigation, safety procedures, cargo handling, and maintenance tasks under the supervision of senior officers. I gained practical experience while working on board, which helped me prepare for future responsibilities as a licensed officer.
