 Maintained, overhauled, carried out and supervised repairs of auxiliary boiler, fresh water generator, exhaust gas economizer, air compressors, air reservoir, steering gear. Also, maintained machinery maintenance records as per Periodical Maintenance System. Carried out various maintenance jobs on 4-stroke diesel generator engines of DAIHATSU 6DK-32 type and 5DK -32 type and experienced in carrying out the complete major overhaul of these engines and their turbochargers. Responsible for the maintenance, operation and upkeep of the emergency equipment on board like the Emergency generator, fire pump and air compressor.  Assisted senior engineers in the major overhauls on 2-stroke MAN B&W 6S70MC-C and UEC 7S60 LS-2 type main propulsion engines. Carried out periodical tests of the quick closing valves, ventilation dampers, diesel generator performance, maintaining engine control systems in a thoroughly efficient state and makes necessary entries in the appropriate log book. Tested periodically the boiler water, feed water, main engine cooling water system and carried out chemical treatment as necessary. And kept record of these tests. Played a positive role in the safe and efficient operation of all machinery, contributing to KPI of the vessel.  Maintained an inventory of all chemicals & spare parts used in the Engine Room and Raised purchase orders for all requirements.  Assisted Chief Engineer in bunkering, fuel transfer operation and the necessary paperwork for bunkering operation. Stationed in the engine room for assistance when the vessel is entering or leaving a port or when the engine is on stand by or in maneuvering as requested by the Chief Engineer. Understudied the 1st Assistant Engineer in his duties. And performed other duties as considered appropriate by the Chief Engineer. Prepared a detailed and precise Engineer's Handover Report, for relief which is submitted to the Chief Engineer for approval.

 Carried out the operation and maintenance of Heavy fuel oil, Lube oil purifiers, reciprocating air compressors, centrifugal & positive displacement pumps. Carried out the operation and maintenance of Low pressure Auxiliary boilers with rotary cup and steam jet atomisation type burners. Operated and maintained the lifeboat and rescue boat engines, ship board waste oil & garbage incinerator, and managed waste oil on board. Assisted senior engineers with maintenance carried out on the 4-stroke Diesel generator and 2-stroke propulsion engines. Kept regular watches of engine room machinery during port operations and at sea. Maintained watch keeping duties Operated and maintained auxiliary machinery like Sewage treatment plant, Refrigeration & Air-conditioning plant, various pumps, Fuel oil & lubrication oil Purifiers, Electric motors, lighting systems & fixtures, electrical instruments and equipments. Maintained an up-to-date record regarding conditions, dates brought into use, repairs carried out, or renewals and calibrations done in regards to all above items and submitted the record to the 1st Assistant Engineer. Carried periodical test of the Diesel Generator cooling water system and Lubrication oils. Familiarized with all pumping, piping water system.  Played a positive role in the safe and efficient operation of all machinery, contributing to KPI of the vessel.  Maintained fire detection and Fixed Fire Extinguishing System. Understudied the 2nd Assistant Engineer in his duties and readily assisted when required.
