Multi-residue Pesticide Analysis of Major Pesticides in Marketable Fruits and VegetablesSupervisor: Dr Sutapa Bose, IISER KolkataI did my final year thesis work at IISER Kolkata under Dr. Sutapa Bose (Ramanujan Fellow, IISER Kolkata), wherein I performed a multi-residue analysis of major pesticide residues, mainly organochlorines, in common plant produces that are available in the local market of Nadia, West Bengal (India). The thesis aimed to estimate the magnitude of exposure that the local population faces through some common marketable fruits and vegetables. The project got me acquainted to the field of Separation Science and one of its major tools, Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) which had been used for the multi-residue analysis.
