Monitored elections and news updates in Africa for a volunteer-run organization that contextualizes election and polling data across social media platforms and serves as a democracy watchdog in authoritarian countries. Drafted summaries of political parties and current states of play for various African countries in election cycles. Tracked candidate positions and analyzed polling information, reporting results to the Manager of Africa Elects.

Law Clerk at United States Senate Committee on Rules and Administration

Advocated for the rights of immigrants as part of a coalition of 175+ mayors championing pro-immigrant federal policies. Planned “Know Your Rights” and resettlement trainings by coordinating with mayors offices across the country.

Restructured campaign field strategy in Midtown Manhattan. Managed a team of staffers. Employed new and innovative methods of increasing voter engagement with a focus on building the “New Electorate”. Successfully contributed to the highest voter turnout in Midtown Manhattan in twenty-five years, and won 42% of the vote against the incumbent.

Managed the candidate’s day to day commitments, contacting various partners, and constituents through outreach. Worked closely with the Chief of Staff to compile daily briefings for the candidate. Coordinated with all the departments to ensure every campaign event was executed successfully.

Assisted the Former U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria, John Campbell, with foreign policy research and drafting blog posts, including a blog post on the effects of the President’s foreign policy in Somalia.Developed strong subject matter expertise on African policy and political issues; Managed the CFR Nigeria Security Tracker.

Collaborated with case managers and reviewed immigration documents to help resettle refugees & asylum seekers in NY.

Contributed to the monthly CRO report which covered the macroeconomic and geopolitical outlook of the Americas. Contributed to the political risk report on Brazil; Worked on a project mapping escalations of risk from country to Group level; Presented the updated 2014 Risk Framework to staff.
