In this role, I have the opportunity to collaborate with Legal and Audit on company-wide compliance issues, such as policy and procedure development and review and creating a corporate training curriculum. My area of focus is servicing, with an emphasis on vendor management.

In this role, I was the first point of contact for clients who were coming in to discuss estate matters after a loved one had passed away. It was my job to analyze and interpret the legal documents, identifying next steps and how our firm could help. If we were hired, it was my responsibility to review asset details, manage value determinations, and then draft legal documents such as conveyances and letters of instruction in order to achieve appropriate registrations based on legal agreements. I would perform all tax and legal aspects of estate administration, guiding the probate process, when applicable.

As Trust Department Manager, I was responsible for overseeing the operational processing of trust accounts and department compliance overall. I supervised staff, as well as served as backup for trust accounting, when needed. As primary point of contact for grantors and beneficiaries, I was the decision-maker regarding what the governing document allowed, any restrictions of law, and the original intention of the grantors. One process improvement that I implemented, creating a process for daily reconciliations of asset and cash, allowed us to work more efficiently and reflected our commitment to compliance.
