He has performed analyses ranging from reactor design and safety to nuclear proliferation assessments (e.g., accident risk of Soviet-designed reactors, plutonium production estimates, and Y2K risks of foreign nuclear power plants). He also serves as a project manager for a team of nuclear specialists conducting foreign nuclear analyses for U.S. government policymakers. Ritchie came to the PNNL in 1991 with a background in the nuclear power industry (Siemens, Entergy and DOE) where he led multi-disciplined technical projects, ranging from hundreds of thousands to multi-million dollar reactor core design efforts.
