Provide nursing care at optimum level

.Plan for and provide direct nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and standards.•Administer medications/treatments in accordance with physicians’ orders and hospital policies and standards.•Provide health teachings/counseling to patients and families.•Assist surgeon in role of scrub nurse/circulating nurse, as required.•Assist anesthesiologist during induction of anesthesia.•Monitor vital signs, progress of labor, IV rates, patients’ condition and report concerns to physicians/surgeons.•Assist obstetrician with complicated deliveries.•Perform endorsement with incoming staff at change over of shift.•Observe and respond to patients’ psychological, emotional and spiritual needs.•Ensure preoperative checklist and patient/guardian consent and approval for procedure is completed accurately (whether i or out patient).•Prepare and maitain sterile environment in accordance with hospital policy (this includes weekly general cleaning).•Provide nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and standards.•Ensure the OR/DR Complex is clean, sanitary and orderly at all times.•Ensure counts/tallies of sponges and instruments are complete and accurate, and record the same.•Ensure sterilization of all instruments in accordance with hospital protocol.•Ensure that all personnel, consultants, surgeons, anesthesiologist, hospital personnel, inspectors and student affiliates strictly observes and follows sterile techniques when going inside the complex (hand washing, wearing of caps, masks, slippers, scrub suits, etc.).•Ensure the privacy and safety of patient before, during and after the procedure.• Monitor and document all diagnostic test results – communicate abnormalities to physician/surgeon.•Maintain proper documentaton of patients’ condition/progress on the chart.•Perform other function as required.
