CurrentCurrently I am working as an Assistant News Editor with the Times of India (Since Nov’17), handling an aggregator website, Toistudent.com. The website is an online extension of Times of India’s NIE (newspaper in education) paper that helps students stay ahead and aims at making learning fun. As one of the founding members, I head the SEO, backend tech management, content guardrail, vendor management and social media management (Facebook, Twitter and YouTube) for the website. I act as a commissioning editor, liasioning special content from experts on topics like analytical skills, language proficiency, leadership and life skills and publish the finished content. I also write a pet column in the paper which has been a hit with our target audience, Gen Z. At Toistudent.com we work on various event-based integrated marketing campaigns to keep our students engaged with print and online. For instance, currently, we are running ‘In With News, Out With Noise’ encouraging students to make videos on ‘how to identify fakes news’, ‘managing digital distractions during study time’ and ‘how social media affects mental health’. The winners will be awarded exciting prizes like laptop and smart watches. Currently we have received more than 6000 entries (and counting) by the students.
