Daniel Riveong is an award-winning foresight practitioner with over +11 years of experience in applying strategic foresight and systems thinking to help organisations respond to complex issues. Daniel has been involved in foresight and agrifood systems throughout Europea and Southeast Asia, such a Finland to Cambodia.As the former general manager of a San Francisco-based digital consultancy, Daniel also brings over 15 years of experience in the digital technologies space, specifically in digital marketing and business intelligence for clients such as Wells Fargo Bank and Yves Saint Laurant. Beyond his work through Plural Futures, Daniel is the Foresight Advisor at the Mycelium Gastronomy Network, a global network of +100 food scientists, chefs, food technologists, and other leading experts working on food innovation and regional food systems development. He also serves as the NGFP Foresight Learning lead at the School of International Futures, where he leads on foresight capacity building for a network of over +600 foresight practitioners. Daniel is a board member at Participatory Futures Global Swarm and co-editor at the Journal of Futures Studies.Daniel has facilitated workshops, conducted research, delivered capacity training, and worked on multi-stakeholder projects across Asia and Europe. Daniel’s past foresight engagements include financial institutions, national governments, universities, and international organizations such as UNICEF, UNDP, WHO, FAO, and others. While having worked in areas like finance to peacebuilding, Daniel has a particular interest in:1) Agri-Food Systems and the Future of Food2) Futures Thinking and Strategic Foresight capacity building3) Polycrisis in areas of demographic change, AI and the future of workDaniel has presented and co-led panels organized by the Asia Pacific Futures Network, the Association of Professional Futurists, UNESCO, Marel, and others. Daniel is a member of the Association of Professional Futurists, where he was an Emerging Fellow on Global South and post-capitalism.
