I am a Christian and married with 2 children.I have been in IT since 1989 but had some previous experience programming both in university and a short term job writing educational software.I enjoy learning new skills and solving problems and am willing to try new things and technologies. I work well in a team as, with good management, the strengths in some can help correct the weaknesses in others. My main tasks are managing our Netcool WebGUI environment, producing reports from Netcool Reporter mostly using Perl to create Excel spreadsheets to be emailed to users.I developed web front ends for Netcool data using Perl and JQuery. This includes a system to present Reporter Data, a tool to unlock user accounts in Omnibus, a monitoring system for Netcool that scrapes log files into a database and can then display graphs on load and event count (amongst others).I have had training and some limited exposure to Zabbix, OEM and Resolve. And a very, very small amount of Splunk. Recent changes in the company means more focus on Netcool products and will include working to get NOI working. This would allow users to see and focus on root cause alarms rather than being swamped with more minor alarms caused by that main alarm.I hold NPPV3+SC clearance issued on 19 Feb 2014.I am a keen member of my local archery club where I shoot barebow (hunter tackle) target archery with distances from 10m (form practice) to 80 yards (practice finding arrows). I assist with have-a-go sessions and with the beginner's courses.
Listed skills include Unix, Perl, Telecommunications, Netcool, and 19 others.
