I am a seasoned financial services professional with over 25 years operations and regulatory experience. I work to a consistently high standard, with clients’ interests at the centre of what I do, while leading highly motivated teams with an entrepreneurial approach. I create pathways that develop future leaders with programs designed to embrace junior Analysts from less privileged backgrounds. I believe diverse thoughts create more effective teams, deliver better client outcomes, and ultimately contribute to the sustainability of a brand. I am a role model for young people, with my professional life extending into the community. This is core to my value proposition, and I am particularly proud co-founding an award-winning student program 15 years ago. I have proved to be a very effective collaborator and business partner, including actively engaging with the C-Suite. I thrive in open-minded, entrepreneurial environment that respects individual contribution, so I love working for an organisation with global operations that fosters collaboration and innovation, while encouraging alternative views. Having managed many complex projects over the years, I have learnt to identify inherent risks and build strong risk controls to mitigate these. This includes assessing the impact of emerging trends that threaten the longevity of the business. I believe risk management and responses to errors must be pragmatic, proportionate, and purposeful. I nurture strong partnerships internally and externally that I leverage to facilitate – cross functional projects; risk reduction; mentor teams; improve the organisation’s culture; meet project deliverables; and execute commercial contracts effectively. I enjoy working with IT and data teams and will often be chosen as the ‘test partner’ for new data, risk and technology initiatives. I have enjoyed business travel to maintain global teams, while building an international network of business partners. This network helps me to handle complex problems with resourceful and pragmatic solutions. Chairing the UK Investment Association’s Trade & Transaction Reporting Comm allowed me to contribute to the improvement of regulatory outcomes for the asset mgt sector, while garnering insights to improve internal risk controls. I have worked closely with Ops heads and Finance teams to manage budgets.
