This organization was birthed out of a personal experience of being a young cancer survivor. I've always enjoyed wardrobe styling but was a professional career makeup artist for the last 10 years doing all things from print work to runway to film/television to bridal and retail. I've worked with numerous model agencies like FORD, LA Models, Wunder, Envy, & PINK. My experience with film & television ran on a more local level, nonetheless, have had the opportunity to be on set with talents like Pamela Horton, Natalie Floyd, Daniel Wedemeijer, & Sean Dulake, just to name a few. I ran a lucrative bridal business at the same time offering on-location services in LA & OC. My career shifted gears after managing the Bobbi Brown shop in Newport Beach, CA, and eventually became a regional artist in the SoCal region. All of this came to an abrupt halt when I was unexpectedly diagnosed with breast cancer in October of 2020. I was 29 with no family history of cancer. I underwent 12 rounds of IV chemo, double mastectomy plus lymph node dissection, 6 cycles of oral chemo, and 2 surgeries. I will now be on hormone medication for the next 5-10 years to prevent the possibility of a recurrence. Since my diagnosis, I have taken a stand in advocacy work for cancer survivors. I often speak about my own experience through social media and aim to educate the masses on cancer-related topics through fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. I believe the majority of people have had some sort of encounter with cancer whether it be their family, friend, coworker, or even themselves. And although cancer is widely known and talked about, the conversation about mental health through cancer is not talked about enough. Depression, anxiety, and PTSD in cancer fighters & survivors happen far more often than it should.Oftentimes, an individual loses their physical identity in the process of undergoing multiple treatments. They not only lose their hair, but weight fluctuates, skin texture changes, nails become brittle, brain becomes foggy, & women are often forced into early menopause causing an even greater range of side effects like hot flashes, bone pain, and mood changes. This is usually where the mental challenges begin.By offering professional makeup, hair, and wardrobe services to make someone feel like themself again (or even better), our hope is to become a springboard for overcoming the loss of physical self and to serve as a reminder of who they are by documenting through professional photographs and videography. Our focus will initially be women, but plan to expand as we grow.
