Dr.Galindo received his M.D. from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Little Rock in 2007, followed by fellowship in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary and Advanced Endoscopic Surgery at the University of Louisville. He is board certified in general surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.Since 1990, Dr. Galindo’s military service has taken place across four military services, multiple continents and deployments. He has risen from the enlisted ranks of the U.S. Marine Corps to a medical officer in the U.S. Navy. Since 2000, Dr. has served in the U.S. Navy as an example of clinical, academic, and executive leadership across multiple healthcare platforms nationally and internationally. From 2011 to 2016, he has served as the Associate Program Director for General Surgery and served on the Transitional Intern Executive Board at Naval Medical Center San Diego. He also served on the Medical Executive Committee. He completed multiple combat surgical deployments in Afghanistan and was selected to lead a remote surgical unit in in support of theatre operations. From 2016 to 2019, he transformed the Directorate for Surgical Services at Naval Hospital Naples Italy into the best performing department and had the most recognized directorate while expanding surgical services. He developed international partnerships which are critical in support of operational units. In 2019, he returned to Naval Medical Center San Diego. Currently, he serves in support of 1st Medical Battalion Camp Pendleton, California and brings his expertise in hepatic, pancreas and biliary surgery and combat surgical care to San Diego. He can also focus on clinical development of medical personnel knowledge/skills/abilities, combat surgical care, and medical leadership.
