As a kid, after surviving ADHD, falls out of trees, burning wasp nests with WD-40, rolling down hills inside of large utility wire spools, I somehow was able to graduate High School by making a deal with my principal. I joined the Marine Corps, and spent 4 years in the infantry. Jobs prior to my military service13y – Cleaning horse stalls at local farm.16-18y – Sacking groceries and fast food18y – Painting, Brick Burning, Manufacturing, Security19-23y – Marines23-27y – College, Waiting Tables, Selling Computers & AppliancesAfter graduating, I was hired to inventory and audit cell sites across the country to manage inventory requirements defined by SOX Compliance. I spent the summer of 2008 climbing towers. I spent the entire year of 2009 unemployed, however I stayed busy by starting a not-for-profit 501c6 business for Veteran Owned Businesses. After a year of sweat, blood, and tears, having dinners, ceremonies, and various events with high profile people, I got a job working for the State of Texas as an employment specialist in January 2010 but that wasn’t really my lane, so I was never comfortable in that role. With the networking and friends that I had made during my non-profit run, I was able to get a lead with a contracting company which got my foot into the T-Mobile door.Starting in the Network Operations Center in May 2010 at T-Mobile, I was trained to do some pretty basic networking stuff. After doing this a few months, I started troubleshooting, and started wanting to learn more about how to excel in the field. I was able to take classes for Cisco CCNA at the local community college, and learn proper networking. After a year I was selected to train technicians, engineers, and management on a new router platform we rolled out to the cell site network. Upon completion of a 6 week teaching stint in Snoqualmie WA, I returned to Dallas and was hired permanently as a Sr. IP Troubleshooting technician to work in the South NOC. This was a meat-grinder type job where I worked 12 hour shifts, on 3 month day/night swings. After life as a zombie for 3 ½ years, I was able to parlay my hard work and knowledge over to the Engineering Design team. I have worked with this team for almost 10 years now, and have worked on many different projects, platforms, and I have managed teams, and lead large scale projects from the engineering aspect.In the future, I will be starting businesses, securing patents, and spending a lot of time with my wife and children.
