Rob is Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of Encina Capital Partners, a team comprised of former GE Capital and Oaktree Capital Management executives. He is also a member of Encina's Board of Directors and its Investment Committee.Since 2016, with the backing of over $1B from a large global asset management firm, the group has launched four private credit platforms: Encina Lender Finance, Encina Private Credit, Encina Equipment Finance, and Encina Business Credit. Two of the platforms, Encina Business Credit (now Eclipse Business Capital) and Encina Equipment Finance (now Post Road Equipment Finance), were sold in 2021 to affiliates of Barings (a Mass Mutual Life Insurance Co.) and Benefit Street Partners (a Franklin Templeton Co.), respectively. Prior to Encina, Rob worked at GE Capital for 16 years, where his time was split between roles in general management and corporate finance.During this period he led GECC’s Specialty Finance Group which comprised of three Asset Based Finance teams, one of which was its Restructuring Finance team — responsible for originating a number of the country’s largest bankruptcy financings. He also held a variety of senior leadership roles in which he led 2 integrations; the strategic pricing & analysis team which spanned 10 GE Capital Americas divisions; a 200-person front-end recruitment project; and a Six Sigma process improvement team, during which time he obtained Quality Leader certification (i.e., Master Black Belt). Before GE, he worked at ABN AMRO (13 years), where he managed a large portfolio of non-performing corporate & real estate loans and was a member of the bank’s North American Credit Committee.Rob graduated from Fairfield University, with a B.A. in Economics, went on to serve as an executive member of the Business School's Advisory Council (7 years) and is the founder of Fairfield University Friends of Soccer (15 years), an alumni organization which supports the school’s Division 1 soccer team. Rob obtained his M.B.A. from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management with concentrations in Finance, Management Strategy, Organizational Behavior, and Real Estate. He serves as an Advisory Board member on Kellogg’s Finance Network.
