Global Health Program Officer (Regional Vaccine Initiatives)
My role supports the implementation and coordination of the extensive Global Health program at NCIRS, which includes the coordination of technical assistance in the support of eighteen partner countries across the Pacific Island Countries and South-East Asia, and agencies with immunisation policy development; National Immunisation Technical Advisory Group (NITAG) strengthening; vaccination program design & rollout; vaccination coverage and vaccine preventable disease (VPD) monitoring; vaccine safety surveillance; health communications and monitoring behavioural and social drivers for immunisation.I am also part of the secretariat responsible for the implementation and ongoing management for the external Governance requirements for DFAT's Regional Vaccine Access & Health Security Initiative (VASHI) which includes two independent Steering Committees and regular reporting to the DFAT's Centre of Health Security, Desk and Post. Lastly, I work closely with other local and international immunisation experts - leading Australian organisations across most states and territories e.g. Burnet Institute, Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI), Telethon Kids Institute(TKI)/University of WA, the University of Sydney - multilaterals such as UNICEF and the WHO, and NGOs such as the ASHM, Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), and Jhpiego, to coordinate the delivery of highly skilled technical support designed to build capacity and improve the delivery of vaccines in the Indo-Pacific region.
