• Responsible for assisting the nurse manager in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating services of the units • Manage and coordinate the unit, direct functions and activities, interpret policies/procedures/protocols, standards, and regulations as appropriate spanning to all aspects of nursing care in accordance with federal, state and facility guidelines• Maintain clinical competence and certifications to assist the unit when required• Proven leadership ability and hospital operational expertise within Incident Command Emergency Management code triage situations• Ability to serve as a role model and advocate for the professional discipline of nursing, especially with aggressive and behavioral patients and visitors

• Continual monitoring, assessing patients’ cardiac condition, while evaluating and making decisive judgments and notifying physicians of clinical changes and needs• Effective patient advocate with the support team through verbalization and documentation to ensure utmost health and safety in patients’ care and treatment• Comprehensive nursing care for up to five patients during twelve hour shift, following safety, security, infection control, universal precautions to minimize exposure of contamination to all patients, personnel and family members• Work with minimal supervision in fast paced environment while conducting physical examinations, patient assessment, wound care, medication administration, IV therapy, obtain lab specimens, and other nursing duties prescribed by physician• Administer and monitor effects of routine and specialized medications as prescribed by physician, review clinical data and test results and report • Interaction with patients family members using therapeutic communication, giving emotional support and education with concern of patients’ cardiac psychosocial needs

• Facilitate set-up of equipment and supplies for variety of surgical cases• Assist surgical support team with various supplies for surgery and turnovers• Provide safe transportation of patients from SSU to OR and to PACU
