Obtain prior-authorizations by communicating and collaborating with nurse managers from insurance carriers. Coordinate testing denials through peer-to-peer discussions between our medical staff and the insurance carrier nurse managers. Submit medical appeals when necessary to insurance carriers. Work closely with medical insurance programs such as: Evicore, Navinet and Availity among several others. Knowledgeable in navigating various practice management and personal health records software such as: E-clinical, Athena, Meditech, and Epic. Understand and navigate CPT & ICD codes. Comprehend extensive medical terminology and exercise vital clinical judgment when dealing with insurance carriers. Provide exam order entries, schedule patients for testing, register patients upon arrival, check patient eligibility for coverage and benefits, respond to patients’ inquiries and concerns, and answer phone calls and emails. Train and mentor new employees.
