30 years of experience working with flood threatened communities has driven him to lead Practical Action’s three major programme teams: DRR and Climate Change Adaptation, Food Agriculture and Markets and Practical Action Consulting teams in Bangladesh. He has assisted many national and international organisations including UKAID, the flood resilience building Char Livelihood Programme (CLP) and UNDP to assess impact and design M4P and service Market development projects. A natural networker, Mr. Rob has extensive experience forming effective partnerships with many NGOs, private sector business, and governmental entities in Bangladesh. After Rohingya influx, he has extended working experience of the Rohingya Refugee Response to World Vision, Care, IRC, Christian Aid and DanChurchAid to assess the needs of the host community and Rohingya populations, the functionality of the local market, identify cross-sectoral issues related to Agriculture, Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Change Adaptation, Health, Education, Water and sanitation, and gender. He also helped some of these organisations analyzing conflict Dynamic in the host/refugee communities looking specifically cause, trigger, and mitigations.
