In 1995, Rob founded Chaos as Australia’s first online music service. The site became a favorite with the tech savvy market then grew rapidly from 1998 when Rob secured its position as the music channel for OzEmail, Australia’s largest Internet service provider at the time. In 1999 the company was listed on the ASX. Between 1999 and 2003 Rob established Chaos as the leading online music service in Australia, growing membership from 45,000 to 250,000 over the period. In 2002 the company was the winner of the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 program (Revenue growth rate in excess of 5000% over 3 years).In 2003, Rob led a MBO for the company’s online media assets and continued on as CEO with the business in the private vehicle Chaos Entertainment Pty Limited. The public entity was became an energy retail business which is now known as Australian Power and Gas (ASX: APK). Following the 2003 MBO Rob developed a brand licensing model for Chaos.com, outsourcing operational elements.

Australian Broadband Services (ABS) is a new entrant into Australia’s telecommunications sector, offering fixed and wireless broadband, voice over IP (VOIP) and mobile plans.

AMRA is an industry trade organisation in place to support music and entertainment retailers. It provides a forum for the retailers and the suppliers to the music industry. Rob was invited onto the board to provide expertise in online media.

The MCA is a 50-member national peak music organisation for Australia. Its members include nominees of major national music organisations, and distinguished individuals expert in various aspects of music. Rob was invited onto the MCA to improve the Council’s expertise in relation to digital media and distribution. The MCA is the official Australian representative to the UNESCO International Music Council (IMC), Paris, the world peak music organization, and its Executive Director is currently the President. It is also a member of the International Network for Cultural Diversity (INCD), Ottawa. In 2009 Rob attended the World Music Forum in Tunisia as a member of the Australian delegation attending for the MCA. Rob is also a member of the Digital Committee for the MCA working on national strategies and advice to Government for the adoption of digital technology and distribution in the Australian music industry.
